The National Forest
Right at the heart of England The National Forest is transforming a great swathe of the country on a massive and unprecedented scale – some 200 square miles over Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Over 8 million trees have already been planted. Ultimately 30 million trees will be planted – mixed woodlands forming a mosaic of land uses that transform the environment, economy and social well being of the area for its benefit and that of the nation as a whole.
